We can say it: we won! Behind this symbolic date, which the whole team of the festival addresses in a spirit of simplicity, there is a happily paradoxical statement. For several decades, and since 2009 for Les Ouvreurs, the French LGBT + film festivals have redoubled their energy and creativity to make films on issues of identity and sexual diversity visible and accessible to as many people as possible.
In recent years this work seems to have borne fruit. 120 beats per minute, Call Me by Your Name, Only the Earth, Moonlight, Carol, Pride, The Lake Unknown, The Life of Adele, to name only the most recent, no longer need our festivals for exist on the screens. And the announcement of the Cannes selections 2018, with the presence of the films of Christophe Honoré, Yann Gonzalez, Marie Losier, Camille Vidal-Naquet confirms and installs, a little more, this impression.
In fact, this situation leads us to modify our film lovers' proposals. Without this supper totally of these big machines, it is more necessary than ever for us to concentrate on more fragile works and the less visible artists, to continue to offer the curiosity of our audiences original moments. Nice program for a birthday...
